Top seeded in their homeland at the Open Sud de France – Montpellier, Sadio Doumbia and Fabien Reboul dug deep to complete a title run Sunday with a tense championship-match victory at the indoor ATP 250.
Doumbia and Reboul overcame Albano Olivetti and Sam Weissborn 6-7(5), 6-4, 10-6 in the south of France to claim their second tour-level title as a team. A high-quality serving display was the foundation of their one-hour, 44-minute triumph, as Doumbia and Reboul won 84 per cent (41/49) of points behind first serves against their fourth-seeded opponents.
"I was quite emotional today," said Doumbia after the win. "Winning our second title and first one in France here, in front of our family and friends, means a lot to us."

Since making their tour-level debut as a team at Roland Garros in 2021, Doumbia and Reboul have racked up a 48-43 record together. Their Montpellier victory comes just four months after they lifted their first ATP Tour trophy in Chengdu.
"We've been through a lot together," reflected Reboul. "Sadio is almost like a big brother to me."
Both Doumbia and Reboul are set to hit new career highs in the Pepperstone ATP Doubles Rankings on Monday as a result of their Montpellier win. Doumbia will rise two spots to No. 32, while Reboul will rise two spots to No. 34.
