Mike Dickson, tennis correspondent of The Daily Mail, passed away in Melbourne on Wednesday aged 59. He won the ATP Ron Bookman Media Excellence Award in 2016.
Dickson started working for The Daily Mail in 1990 and covered 30 different sports for the newspaper, including an eight-year stint as its cricket correspondent until 2007.
Wimbledon-based Dickson had previously worked for the Chester Chronicle, Wembley Observer and 2CR Radio in Bournemouth. Dickson wrote a number of books, including ‘Emma Raducanu: When Tennis Came Home’ that was published in 2021.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy, and their three children, Sam, Ruby and Joe.
