Pizza peels are mostly used for chefs to put pizza in the oven. At the Internazionali BNL d’Italia, they were used in an intense doubles match featuring Christopher Eubanks and WTA star Coco Gauff.
The two friends each partnered with a local junior at the Foro Italico for a Match Tie-Break in which there was plenty of trash talk.
“We already know he’s about to serve short, so…”
“You were the reason you guys won.”
“If you would have played with me, you would have won.”

Gauff also spoke in Rome about her friendship with Americans Eubanks and Ben Shelton. They often post on social media about their trips to escape rooms.
“Chris and I did one with a lot of my family, my aunt, my brothers, my uncle. We did one, like 10 of us. It started I think with that, with Chris,” Gauff recalled. “Then Ben got on Tour and Chris was friends with Ben. I became friends with Ben through that basically. I think we started with all four of us with Chris and girlfriend Anna in Australia.
“It’s been a fun thing ever since. I try to do it almost every tournament that we're playing together, if we can, if I know there's a nice room.”
