Lleyton Hewitt was inducted into the Australian Tennis Hall of Fame on Wednesday inside Rod Laver Arena.
The former World No. 1 spent 80 weeks atop the Pepperstone ATP Rankings and won 30 tour-level singles titles, including two majors (2001 US Open, 2002 Wimbledon). The Adelaide-native won back-to-back Nitto ATP Finals from 2001-2002. Hewitt also partnered Max Mirnyi to lift the 2000 US Open doubles crown.

Throughout Hewitt's 18-year career, he won 59 Davis Cup ties, an Australian record. He was instrumental in securing Australia's Davis Cup victories in 1999 and 2003. Hewitt continues to play an important role in Australian tennis, serving as the Davis Cup captain since 2016. The past two seasons, Hewitt helped guide his home country to back-to-back Davis Cup Finals. Hewitt has also spearheaded Australia's ATP Cup and United Cup teams.
Hewitt's bronze statue will join 46 other Australians in Garden Square at Melbourne Park.
