Stefanos Tsitsipas kept alive his hopes of completing a singles and doubles triumph at Roland Garros on Monday when he teamed with brother Petros Tsitsipas to reach the third round in the doubles event.

The 25-year-old Greek, who faces Carlos Alcaraz in the quarter-finals in singles on Tuesday, produced an impressive display with his brother to earn a 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 win against last year’s champions Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek.

The Tsitsipas brothers saved seven of the eight break points they faced, according to Infosys Stats, to advance after two hours and 27 minutes.

Second seeds Rohan Bopanna and Matthew Ebden advanced to the quarter-finals in Paris, where they moved past N.Sriram Balaji and Miguel Reyes-Varela 6-7(2), 6-3, 7-6(10-8). The Indian-Australian team are 9-0 at majors this year, having won the Australian Open. Bopanna and Ebden, who captured the crown in Miami, are chasing their third trophy of the year.

The ninth seeds saved two set points on serve in the first set, before they held their nerves in the second-set tie-break to advance after one hour and 51 minutes. Arevalo won Roland Garros in 2022 with Jean-Julien Rojer.

Third seeds Rajeev Ram and Joe Sailsbury dispatched Frenchmen Gregoire Barrere and Lucas Pouille 6-3, 6-3. The American-Argentine team have won four major titles together. They will next plays Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori after the 11th seeds downed Max Purcell and Jordan Thompson 6-3, 6-4.

Top seeds Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos lifted their sixth ATP Masters 1000 trophy together in Rome last month. They continued the quest for their first major as a team in Paris, where they beat Hugo Nys and Jan Zielinski 6-2, 6-1.

In second-round play, Tomas Machac and Zhang Zhizhen defeated Robin Haase and Botic van de Zandschulp 7-5, 6-2. Zhang became the first Chinese player to win an ATP Tour doubles title earlier this year when he teamed with Machac to win in Marseille.

Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen advanced to the last eight after receiving a walkover from Harri Heliovaara and Henry Patten.
