#NextGenATP Chinese star Shang hits career-high, Mover of Week

#NextGenATP Shang Juncheng enjoyed one of the best weeks of his young career in Atlanta to rise to a career-high in Monday's PIF ATP Rankings. Italian Matteo Berrettini is back in the Top 40 for the first time in 11 months after claiming his second consecutive title in Kitzbühel and Argentine Francisco Cerundolo was crowned champion in Umag.

No. 73 Shang Juncheng, +16 (Career High)
The 19-year-old's rapid ascent gained momentum as he advanced to his second tour-level semi-final of the season at the Atlanta Open, having also reached the last four in Hong Kong. The teen came through Atlanta qualifying and earned his third Lexus ATP Head2Head win against top seed Ben Shelton in the second round.

Shang strengthened his claim on fourth in the PIF ATP Live Race To Jeddah as he aims for his maiden trip to the Next Gen ATP Finals presented by PIF, to be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from 18-22 December. Only nine ranking points separate Shang from second-placed Jakub Mensik, with American Alex Michelsen sandwiched in between. The lefty Shang is the second-youngest player in the Top 100, only behind 18-year-old Mensik.

No. 26 Francisco Cerundolo, +11
A hard-fought week ended with a great reward for the 25-year-old Cerundolo, who en route to the Umag title, ousted the Top 2 seeds Andrey Rublev and Lorenzo Musetti in the semi-finals and final, respectively. Cerundolo, now World No. 26, seven spots shy of tying his career-high, claimed his third trophy in as many years.

No. 40 Matteo Berrettini, +10
The heavy-hitting Italian is playing some of the best tennis of his career, having won two consecutive titles. Following his triumph at the Generali Open in Kitzbühel, Berrettini returned to the Top 40 for the first time since last August. The former World No. 6 has won 20 consecutive sets since falling to countryman Jannik Sinner in the Wimbledon second round.

No. 50 Yoshihito Nishioka, +36
The Japanese lefty has climbed 29 spots to No. 57 in the PIF ATP Rankings after he won his third tour-level title and first since 2022 at the Atlanta Open. In the final edition of the ATP 250 event, Nishioka became the only champion not from the United States (10) or Australia (3).

No. 61 Hugo Gaston, +30
The Frenchman was overcome with raw emotion after falling short in his second tour-level championship match in Kitzbühel. But should Gaston continue to produce the high level he displayed at the clay ATP 250, it is only a matter of time before the 23-year-old lefty captures that milestone moment. Gaston soared 30 places to No. 61 in the PIF ATP Rankings, two spots off his career-high, following his deep run.
