Ben Shelton received an unexpected surprise from his girlfriend, football star Trinity Rodman, ahead of his fourth-round match at the National Bank Open presented by Rogers in Montreal.
Rodman showed up outside Shelton's room without telling him she was coming, catching the American off guard just a few hours before he was due to play Fonseca.
"Surprised his a**, happy matchday in Montreal šā¤ļø @benshelton," Rodman wrote in her Instagram Story with a video of the moment.
Shelton appeared visibly stunned when he opened the door and found Rodman waiting outside. In a playful moment, he jokingly closed the door before opening it again, with the pair sharing a fun exchange.
The American, who is the highest seed remaining in the draw, will hope there will be no surprises on the court Sunday in Montreal as he looks to continue his title defence at the ATP Masters 1000 event against Joao Fonseca.
