Paula Badosa and Stefanos Tsitsipas have withdrawn from their opening mixed doubles match at Roland Garros.

The No. 9 in the PIF ATP Rankings Tsitsipas and his girlfriend Badosa, one of the biggest stars on the Hologic WTA Tour, had been due to take on Nathaniel Lammons and Ena Shibahara on Monday afternoon at the clay-court major. Instead, the American-Japanese pairing of Lammons and Shibahara advanced to the second round by walkover.

The 25-year-old Tsitsipas will still take to court in Paris on Monday, when he teams with his brother Petros Tsitsipas in the second round of the men’s doubles. The Greek duo takes on fourth seeds and defending champions Ivan Dodig and Austin Krajicek on Court 14.

A former finalist at Roland Garros, Tsitsipas also remains alive in the men’s singles draw. He will take on third seed Carlos Alcaraz in the quarter-finals on Tuesday. Alcaraz has won all five of the pair’s previous Lexus ATP Head2Head meetings.
