Turned pro in 1992 after outstanding two seasons at the Univ. of Calif.-
Berkeley. Captured the 1991 NCAA doubles title (w/Lucena). Also won the
Rolex National Indoor doubles title (w/Lucena) and finished as the No. 1 team
in the country. Earned singles All-Americans honors in 1990-91, ranking No.
18 in '90 and No. 7 in '91. Also earned All-American doubles honors in '91.
Ranked No. 1 in Norway and compiled 9-2 Davis Cup record through 1990.
Won the Norwegian Indoor Championships three straight years.
Recruited by Cal assistant coach Peter Wright, who was playing for his
native Ireland vs. Norway in a Davis Cup tie.
Enjoys playing bandi, a Norwegian version of stickball.
Captured his first tour title in Bolzano, Italy on Oct. 18, 1992 with
veteran Swede Anders Jarryd. It was the first pro title by a Norwegian
player. Ranked No. 1 in Norway and compiled 9-2 Davis Cup record through
1990. Won the Norwegian indoor champion three straight years.
