Began playing tennis at age 10 and hero growing up was Ivan Lendl, who
is from the same hometown.
Ranked No. 4 in Czech juniors.
Earned a career-high $40,662 and finished a year-end best No. 105 in
doubles in 1991 after breaking into the top 100 that summer.
Qualified in singles at Wimbledon in '91 and lost to Jacco Eltingh in a
thrilling five-set marathon (four in tiebreakers). It was the first time in
Wimbledon history that four breakers occurred in a singles match.
Captured his first career tour doubles title on Aug. 30, 1992 in Umag
(w/Prinosil).
