Residence: Delray Beach, Florida Single Year-by-Year Highlights: 1995- Qualified in Montreal (l. to Wilander 1st RD). Turned pro in 1995 after a two-year college career at Michigan State University. Became the first Michigan State tennis player to earn All-America honors after advancing to the round of 16 at the NCAA Championships in 1994. He compiled a 31-12 singles record (mostly at No. 1) as a sophomore after record ing a 29-15 mark as a freshman between the No. 1-2 positions. Named the ITA Midwest Region Freshman of the Year and earned Big Ten Freshman of the Year honors in 1993. He also was a two-time all-Big Ten selection. During his junior career, ranked as the No. 14 player in the country in 1991 and was the top-ranked player in the Midwest during the summer of 1992. Older brother, MaliVai, plays on the ATP Tour, and younger sister, Mash- ona plays on the WTA Tour. Coached by father William. Qualified for his first career ATP Tour tournament in Montreal in 1995 and lost to Mats Wilander in the first round.
